I believe Cushcraft uses 68 turns of 12 AWG wire. There are much more efficient loading coil designs that are also more durable. John KK9A I got the elements down from my not working cushcraft 402cd

Thanks for all the input I have a set of used loading coils on the way. It would be nice to increase the gain with higher Q inductors or with the moxon conversion but I am in Florida with a guyed 120
