Hi Steve. I have the CIA-HF, an Autek RF-1 and previously owned an AEA SWR-121. The Autek is good, takes relatively accurate measurements, but has some serious drawbacks. It is hard to read, incessan

As a 'newbie' I can say the MFJ-259b is an awesome tool. The manual does an adequate job of explaining how to use the analyzer to read Z, cable loss, etc, etc, etc... but NOT what these things are. T

asking Pete, I have both a 259 and a 269. The 269 is vastly superior to the 259. Much easier to use, more functions, more "stable" readings, many more measurements. Definitely worth the extra $100!

The MFJ-269 has a 12bit A/D converter whereas the 259B only used 8 bits to digitize the detector voltages. From what I have heard this gives the 269 more accuracy at high and low values of impedance
