- I am trying to put together an interface for a IC706 to use with TR. I would like to be able to use one serial port for both the frequency read out and keying. I am trying to use the serial port volt

- GM, Maybe it's not exact, but it achieves the same purpose: no external power needed. It does borrow some power from the PC's parallel port. It is easy to "steal" -V (from -5 to -12V typically, depen

- If you're running the IC706, then you have 12/13.8V feeding it. Power off of it back through the PC-radio cable to the transistors/opamps. Why risk the LPT/Serial ports? 73, dale, kg5u
