Hi Dennis I think I understand the situation you have developed. The file you are looking for is WriteLog.ini. It in the Windows folder, in your root directory. It will be a Notepad with a gear logo.

Thank you all for your response, I have just looked in the WINDOWS folder and there is NO WriteLog.ini file there. I have my old one saved on a CD, can I copy and paste it into that folder? Dennis __

not good idea to copy a previous ini there are probably differences with the last ini file (perhaps you have different installation directories for example) try start>search for writelog.ini and add

I have found mine but in XP it does not tell you the extension ... Well I don't have it showing in my XP .... But opening the file in Note pad shows it as it should be ... Happy searching Best regard

XP (and other versions of Windows) can be changed to show file extensions. Open File Explorer, click on tools then folder options then the view tab and un-ckeck "Hide extensions for knows file types"

I did a "Files and Folders" search of the hard drive and it found NO .ini files related to WriteLog. I copied my old ini file to the WINDOWS folder, changed to commslot 3=8, rebooted my computer but
