John, The FTDX5000 and other newer Yaesu radios use a different CAT command set than the FT-1000MP. It may not be possible to control any of the newer Yaesu radios with CT. Note that CT is no longer

Since the introduction of the FT-9000 series Yeasu has adopted the Kenwood style commands. You may be able to select a Kenwood model to report frequency and mode in CT. Otherwise there isn't much you
