TX Antenna: 130' wire vertical with 30,000' of radials
RX Antenna: 700' 2 wire center fed Beverage NE/SW
FT-1000MP, Ten Tec Titian Amplifier
Wow! What a contest! Been saying for a few years about putting up
some Beverage's, but finally did it this year. (hooked everything up
2 hours before the contest). Have another 580' E/W Beverage
almost ready, but just ran out of time. Had several European's
start calling CQ right on top of me. Made me think of the last few
years I did this contest and could'nt hear THEM. Some of the EU's
were loud, but for the most part the rest were PW. Might need to
add a pre-amp for those guys. Without the Beverage's I more
than likely would have been semi-serious. The noise on the
vertical was always atleast S8. Used the RX antenna's about 95%
of the time. Need to get an RX antenna to JA, had to use vertical
for them, no copy at all on the NE/SW antenna.
Trying to get the E/W and NW/SE Beverage's up for Phone, as
well as getting the 3EL phased array working for my K8LN, my #1
tower helper. It's his only reward for all the time spent working
here HI!
