Well another boring event in the log! Thank God I had SO2R to play with and
some TV sports to keep an eye on.
There are so many ways this test could be improved but gess the ESTablishment
won't have anything to do with meaningful change to this event. How did they
ever find the courage to change it from the old 2 week format years ago?
The fone version of SS
10m was great this year. A great break for the Qrp and LP ops. Tried LP and
SO2R this year and got some good practice in. Sweep came easy with a second
radio doing the S&P! Quality of CW ops pretty good still but participation
sure seemed down from previous years especially considering 10m propagation.
All the more reason to look at some changes as CW skilled ops decline over
time.
Best hour only 89 Q's (including SO2R)....after that down hill all the way to
the finish! Many hours 40 or less...very boring!
Either cut the length of the CW event, limit pwr levels to 150W or less AND
allow stations to be wked again on each band! I don't think I can take much
more this event the way it is now and I have been doing CS SS for 40 years or
so.
