Hi Tom,

Seal tenmperature woulod be the only concern.

I've measured the temperature after shutting tubes off quickly, and
never found a case where seal temperature is exceeded by the heat-soak.

The worse case would be glass tubes, since the anode is internal. The
ANODE is the primary heat source and could be hotter than top seals. The
anode seal would be the only worry, because of heat conducted out the
anode support. 

I would think a half minute or so of air flow after transmission would
be enough in any case with metal anode tubes, and longer with graphite
anodes (because they have much more thermal energy storage). With
ceramic external anode tubes, I wouldn't worry at all.
