It could be worthwhile having 3 tone testing available, with two of the tones
100Hz apart. Not as good as 25 or 30 Hz apart, but does exercise the power
supply in terms of its output impedance at low frequencies. A 2 tone test with
very close spaced tones shows up interesting phenomena. It can be a bit limited
in that you need a spectrum analyser with very good filters to see the IMD
products.
Similarly, 2 tones widely spaced can be useful in that IMD from the AF and
balanced modulator stages fall outside the sideband filter passband.
