RE: [AMPS] Directional coupler designRadio Society of Great Britain, old =
chap!
try: www.rsgb.org
The Martin article was reprinted in a 73 publication "Radio Frequency =
Testers" 1973. Unfortunately does not cite the original source. Maybe =
pirated?! Does not give more theory than Breune but has some interesting =
things to say about metering.
The practical article in QST should be in your library. Only about 6mos =
or a year later as I recall. I used that info with success years back.
Now using a sense head ex Admiralty Marconi Tx (like Breune but uses two =
toroids instead of split winding) and old Swan two meter SWR box as read =
out!
Works well and cost about $10 all up from flea market, hi!

Hi Dave:=20
There was an excellent article by Breune in QST back in the 60's, I =
think.=20
This was followed some months later by an article on practical hf =
reflectometers by an ARRL staffer. =20
RSGB also had a good one by Martin G3PDM.=20
Sorry this so vague. You may be able to trace via ARRL or RSGB =

Hello Amp'eres,
Can anyone point me to a good reference on theory and design of =
transformer type directional couplers for power sensing? In addition, =
I'm looking for a good reference on how to wind inductors and =
transformers once the desired inductance, turns ratio, core material =
etc. are determined and selected.
Thanks,=20
