[Amps] Buck boost transformer

How would it work if you used a plate transformer with a little higher output than wanted. Install the secondary of a small buck transformer in the primary of the plate transformer.
In the primary of the buck transformer place a resistor of selected size.


Would this provide some regulation of the high voltage?
As the supply gets loaded the primary current increases and the current in the buck transformer also increases. But the resistor in the primary of the buck transformer would cause the buck voltage to drop. As the buck voltage drops the output voltage of the plate transformer would increase to compensate.


Anyone ever tried this?
