I don't follow that argument. In a bridge, the 'off' diodes are effectively
in parallel, not series. Substitute bits of wire for the 'ON' diode and
analyse for one half cycle.
I may be considered a bit cynical (who - me? - G3SEK please compose
yourself!) but over 25 years working in the semiconductor industry, I have
developed a deep distrust of semiconductor processing repeatability! But
bits from the same production batch generally have a chance of all working
the same, although some process parameters do vary across a wafer. Give me
a tube everytime!
