Sounds to me like adding a regulated bias circuit (read: CHEAP) would solve its
problems. How much do these things go for (used and/or new), anyway??

I repeat again, some has bandpass filtering but some
doesnÂt, the HL-150 has.
All of them use very bad bias regulation. I have heard
many of those RM and ZetagiÂs on the air and itÂs far
from pritty.
Why defend pure junk? ThatÂs just what they are.
I would never ever use anything like that at my station,
I care too much for my fellow hams.
