My Alpha 77DX developed a weak receive path problem a couple of years ago.
Suspecting the T/R relay I remembered reading somewhere about magnetization
of the core causing this problem. I reversed the coil leads and cured the
problem. Actually, I wired a coil lead reversal switch into the circuit and
mounted on the chassis rear. I have not needed to use it since.
I wonder how many relays have been replaced when the cure was so simple.
