7kV at 3 amps? Bloody hell, what are you building?  Remind me to buy stock in
your local power company.

Just a heads up to the group...

I have been working with Harbach for a couple of weeks trying to come up with a
20 to 30 KVA transformer they could build -- you know, a 250 to 450 pound
hypersil like Peter used to build all the time.

At first I was told that he could build me a 250LB transformer for about
$1500. Then he said that it might be closer to $2000.

Today he told me could not build me a 250 pounder -- get this... 7000V at 3A
for anything less than $4000. He said the A-0550 core alone is $2000.

Bottom line -- Jeff may own the rights to the Dahl designs, but he doesn't
have the faintest clue what to do with them. I get the impression he is scared
to death to build a big transformer.

He spends more time telling you what he can't do, rather than what he can
do.

Better look around if you are looking for big iron -- Harbach is a dead end...
