Semtech has produced a component numbered SA1388-1- at least for military
purposes. I found a report named :
Corrosion of SA1388-1 Diodes

Carol Krska and Chuck Stimetz

Allied Signal - FM&T

Jeff Braithwaite, Rob Sorensen, and Paul Hlava

Sandia National Laboratories - NM

.......

I am sorry to say this deals with a mechanical problem only--

no electrical specs found.

But at least Semtech did produce it... :-)

showing the anode/cathode ends. Also, the number "6824" is printed on the
case following the diode schematic.

"6824" could relate to the manufacturing date code of the 24th week of 1968, although I've not seen many four-digit date codes used on components before the mid '70s. Semtech was around in 1970 when Alpha produced its first two
amps, so perhaps it's a valid date code.

I checked my Semtech data sheets and find nothing on it.
