Very nice antenna. Wow...

And the comment about wide band use in contests - does not make sense to me.
It seems that's not a power issue per se, it's a
clipping issue.

Assuming no receiver-end overloading, a 1KW and a 10KW clean signal should
occupy the same bandwidth in an absolute sense. Right?

High power is not the cause of splatter. Overdrive to the point of non-linear
operation at ANY given power level is the cause of
splatter.

Then again, maybe I don't understand the dynamics of the amp in a real contest
station. :)

You will know nothing!

I bet, I will be at least 10db stronger with 750W on 20m in California then
any other station from Europe using a ground plane antenna and 20KW

I think people must wake up to the fact that 1500-2500 watts is common used
world wide during contests, just monitor the bandwidth during contes. You
will find those with 5-15 khz splatter...... what they use is more than that
you mention, its not fair, and a few aren't allowed to use more than 400
watts to 1kw. They fool them self, with xx kw. I likes to see on reverse
beacon network during contest, then i know who is real abuse their amps.....
