If I were homebrewing an amp I would not even bother with electrolytics; I'd use one or more oil caps to get 40 uF and call it a day. If the power supply is to supply a fairly static load, I'd use a filter choke. The electrolytics make sense only if you are doing a restoration job on a commercially manufactured amp for a customer. If rolling your own, build into a rack cabinet and go with oil c. fewer caps; fewer problems long term.
