Maybe because it will confuse those newer amp's auto-tuner with the rapidly
changing input match.
You'll have the two computerized tuners competing with each other causing
the amp to trip into self protection.
On that idea manual tune amps like the 76 wouldn't matter, but then again
why not get the amp's input circuitry set correctly instead of incurring the
losses in double tuning the input?
I have a manual 91b and anything the amp doesn't like, even only a minor 2:1
mismatch, happens it automatically trips off.
