Thanks to all who replied and my apologies for double posting. It took a
while for this to get posted to the Amps Reflector so I also asked the
question on the eHam forum.

The problem was resolved by putting the screens to ground when the voltage
is removed. I have shunt resistors in place on each socket but the
impedance was not enough to prevent the oscillation.

Once again, thanks for the responses. I've learned a lot from this
reflector.
