That is way way way too much capacitance.  With a filter choke (choke
input filter) you probably only need at most 10 to 20 mfd capacitance.
You have around 20 times too much and that's probably why the power
supply tranny crapped out.

The Ameritron transformer will be okay IF you can get by with lower
power out due to the 200 v. less of B+ AND you have to look at the
current pull of four 811A filaments and see if they exceed the 16A
filament rating of the transformer.   But, get the filter capacitance
down to at most 20 mfd if the choke is around 10 Hy.   You can put in
a pair of 10 mfd 2 KV oil caps paralleled--actually one will probably
be enough.
