EA9UK: rough score 14K+ Q's, 36M+ points. Ops N6TJ, OH2MM, N6KT, WN4KKN,
KA1BK, W6MKB, K5TSQ, W6QHS, EA9LZ plus Grupo EA9UK. Breakdown later. Had a
superb time, bands reasonable, most everything worked.

Here is a guesstimate of the EA9UK M/M breakdown. We used a variety of
logging methods, so there is nothing approximating a final score yet.
331 9 55 I8CZW (aka KA1BQ)
1153 25 96 K5TSQ, W6MKB
2625 35 136 WN4KKN
3016 39 159 OH2MM, N6TJ
3900 40 159 N6KT
2781 32 129 W6QHS
-------------
13806 180 732 = 36M approx
A new EA9 record for sure. :-) It looks to be a new Africa record. Not
sure what the status of world M/M competition is this year. Were we the
only M/M effort from three-point land this year?
I saw photos from G0KPW at dinner in England Wednesday night. Very
impressive. These guys are serious.

I expect to operate CW SS from SOUTH Carolina this weekend, primarily
on Sunday. I have worked most of you from my home state of North
Carolina in previous sweepstakes. If I work enough stations I'll have some
color QSLs made up, but in any event I will confirm South Carolina
for anyone who works me and sends me a QSL card (SASE not needed, but
please put your card in an envelope to keep the card free of
postmarks, etc.).
I will probably operate from North Carolina in the SSB Sweepstakes.
See you all on the bands!

Subject: FT1000D control problem fixed
Message-ID: <9311050856.A16814@mi04q.zds.com>
Thanks to all that replied to my help request. I now have control of the
FT1000D through the CT program. It appears I needed a later version COMTSR
driver. The one I was using had a creation date of 10-8-92 and a size of 22956
bytes. The one that worked had a creation date of 10-27-93 and a size of 23300
bytes. Both are labelled version 1.02.
After loading the right driver with the -b4800 -n82 switches everything
performed flawlessy. However, I still have not tried to grab any packet spots
to see if I have any of the other problems that have been reported.
The CT version here is CT386 ver 8.45.
Thanks for the help. Work you in SS.

Heard during CQWW Phone :
Rare DX: QRZ from QR0QRM ...
...Roar of Pileup ....
Rare DX: PJ4/N3ED you're 5936
PJ4/N3ED: Roger, you're 5909. Can you QSY to XXXXX.X and work PJ1B ?
Rare DX: Roger, will QSY now to XXXXX.X
I see nothing in the rules prohibiting this. Perhaps there ought to be
a rule about operators at a multi-single making QSO's with other callsigns
as a way of skirting the 10 minute rule ?

I also plan to be in the CW SS this weekend from South Carolina.
Maybe between the 2 of us, John and I will make SC an easier
mult to catch. I will not be on until Saturday evening, 10 pm
local (0300GMT Sunday). I'll be focusing on 40 and 20, and
hope to make 500 or 600 qso's....hope to work you ...
