    These are good topics for contesters but I think we need to define who 
our target market is. IMO it's the person who's never operated a contest 
before or has dabbled a little bit in a couple and wants to learn more. THESE 
are the people we need to help.

    Strategy? I don't think that's on their radar yet. Better this 
publication should 1) get across the competitive nature and thrill of 
contesting; 2) encourage them to get on a make some contacts; 3) encourage 
them to improve their operating skills and station. 

    Topics like the above are mostly learned by contesting experience. When I 
first started contesting, I went to all the contest seminars to learn how to 
'do it'. What I found out was that 1) basically experienced guys aren't going 
to give out their 'secrets' and B) even if they talked about them, each guy 
had his own opinion so the result was - you STILL had to figure it out on 
your own.
