What nearly everybody has missed (I'll assume some see it, but didn't say
anything yet)
is the HUGE benefit that Skimmer will have for use by the contest sponsors.
I envision having Skimmers globally positioned and set to "copy everything"
(not just CQ's, not
just QRZ's, not just replies, etc)....that's right copy everything it can
"hear."
This will then create a full "map" of virtually everyone in the
contest...exactly where (QRG) and
exactly when. If they were running, S+P, or, ummm, doing both at the same time.
Backed up by time machines, this super-enhanced ability for capturing it all
will lend itself to
some of the best log checking that has ever been possible.
The problem with a Time Machine by itself is that we still had to "tune the
band" to "hear" and
log everybody...just like actual contesting. But not any more!
Do I sound excited? You bet!
As for Skimmer use by entrants, you can read my previous posts for my opinion.
I feel so enabled!
