>From all appearances it would appear that development of CT has come to
an end. I would like to make an appeal to Ken and any other developers
to consider releasing the CT source code under a Free Software license
such that interested members of the community could keep CT/CTwin alive
and possibly port it to other platforms. If nothing else, it at least
could be built using Winelib to create a quasi native app on Unix type
systems.

I implore ham software authors everywhere that if you're planning on
winding down development of your software to consider releasing the
source code under a Free Software license so your knowledge can be
passed to the next generation of ham software authors. As we have a
long history of openly sharing circuits, antenna designs, operating
techniques, etc., it seems a shame that knowledge locked inside a binary
program is lost to future hams who must then reinvent the wheel, err,
logging program. I have always liked CT and regret the thought that if
development has indeed stopped that there is no chance to carry CT
forward. I hope Ken can release the code that is his and I understand
if there is third party code that can't be released but I think that can
be worked around by future developers.
