All,

I do not have an answer to this, but I will get one!

I want to ask you all that if you EVER feel you are not getting a direct
answer from our Tech Support to contact me directly (email is probably best
as I travel quite a bit). I work for our customers, and I will get you
answers!

Kevin

Well, the only *mysterious* part about ours was that Karlnet told us
only we as well as another Hyperlink customer had observed this problem
on the AP1000. We were willing to ship one to karlnet for "study" since
we had 3 units (out of 3 that we bravely upgraded to 4.02) doing this,
but they refused. We even ordered a NEW AP1000, new key and new
config/binfile from Hyperlink, and when we upgraded it (since even
though we told Hyperlink to upgrade it before they shipped, it came to
us with Lucent AP software) it behaved the same. We sent that one back
in an RMA since everyone was telling us this problem did not exist.

The problem is as follows.

1) base station AP1000 running 3.88
2) upgrade to 4.02
3) everything works fine
4) reboot via software, save config via software, as many times as you want
5) still working fine

6) unplug the power cord of the AP1000 (for 5 seconds or 5 minutes)
7) power up the AP1000
8) look at the ethernet light and now notice you are having tons of
"carrier sense" errors. Now the ethernet light blinks orange more than
green
9) get complaints of poor throughput by customers
10) downgrade to 3.88
11) works fine again using 3.88

So, you can upgrade to 4.02 as long as you don't POWER OFF the unit.
You can reboot it a hundred times if you want, but don't pull the plug.

That is the scope of it.

Chris
