Thanks everybody for the information.  I shouldn't have asked it as it was
off topic.

I saw it advertised as an LED monitor and expected LED instead of LCD
without knowing.  When I saw the LCD with LED backlight, I thought I had
been cheated.

When talking about TV/monitors this is what they mean.  The LED backlight
produces cleaner more consistant light and is moe controlable.

Also has a longer span and does not develop a color cast as it ages like the
CFL backlights do.
