Interesting thread....I wonder if any "modern" rig actually does true FSK when you switch to that position? I know that my Kenwood TS-940S transmits AFSK in the FSK mode....it derives the mark/space audio tones from the master oscillator via digital division which is then applied to the SSB transmitter section.
