I'm SURE the 2nd harmonic can be heard on 20 meters.. A friend in
Minnesota (who will remain anonymous) was using a little home-brew 1-tube,
xtal-controlled transmitter on 40m when he was a Novice. He received a
notice from the FCC monitoring station in Alaska that they copied his CQing
on 20m. That was his first DX 'contact', now he's on the DXCC Honor Roll!
