What size wire did you have between the Astron and the Jupiter? Was it the supplied Ten Tec cable? another failure point is any in line fuses that fail to be making good connection to the clips and thus drop voltage. And on Astrons, the nuts on the inside next to case can loosen, and allow the high current lead inside to not make good contact with the stud.
