I repent. For a very long time I have loved my Omni VI+, but have harbored a
notion that somehow the fit and finish wasn't up to some of the competing
equipment.
Today I happened (for the first time in a long time) into a local ham radio
store in Northern Virginia, and (for the first time in an even longer time)
sat and twiddled the knobs on the newest stuff from Icom, Yaesu, and Kenwood.
I made a discovery. The VFO knob on my Omni VI+ is actually smoother, and
the case is every bit as "tight."
I have no clue where I got the idea that although our Ten-Tec stuff can
outperform the competition, the other rigs had it in look and feel. I
honestly think I had bought into a preconception, but until today, hadn't
realized the facts are otherwise.
I know others may see things otherwise. But, for what it's worth...
