That would drive me batty.

and there's no obvious TX indicator to let you know? Hello, Ten-Tec?

Even my SCOUT has this!
I had been looking at this radio rather closely as my next mobile rig, and
I hope there'll be an "ARGO V.I" that fixes these mistakes ... it's sounding
like a great little box otherwise!
