There is no advantage to making ground radials resonant. Resonance contributes nothing to the efficiency of the system.
Those that believe otherwise have not spent any time with a calibrated Field Strength Meter. The old rules still apply: More radials are better than fewer, and many shorter radials are preferable to fewer longer ones.


The "point of diminishing returns" will vary relative to each person's perspective. On 160 meters, 30 (nominally) one quarter wavelength radials will yield a field strength at any ground wave reference distance that is within 3 db of 120 one quarter wavelength radials.
