The electret mic works fine with the Scout, but I've found that the
Scout really likes low-Z dynamic mikes, like a Cobra CB mike with the
large dynamic element. I also use a Shure CM-14AE small mobile mike with
the "controlled magnetic reluctance element" and it is outstanding.
(Best $10 I ever spent at a hamfest).
