Actually, my question was a facetious one that I thought would inspire a 
smile or two. I thought Bill's "must be a CW only guy" comment was the 
best retort.  If my new friend wasn't a CW-exclusive operator then, he 
is now.

Anyway, thanks to all for the good info on the proper use of chokes.  I 
hope nobody actually tries shunting his mike input. -- although it will 
eliminate RF contamination.
