Jeremy,

You don't seem to have received any response to your email as of this writing
and I was so hoping you would. That is somewhat disappointing to me and
probably you as well.

I've had my Jupiter since the mid 70s and am quite pleased with it. What you
have noted I likewise find with mine. I assume that this is the way it is. I
know that the changes made in the software since that which originally came
with the rig has made a huge difference. And I was very pleased to add the 60
meters with just a simple download rather than sending it to the hospital for
major surgery!

After your paragraphs below I have made some notations, and will probably add
more at the end before sending this on to "the force".

Greetings!

I have been playing with my new Ten-Tec Jupiter for almost a week now.
Overall, I am enjoying it very much. I am a bit disappointed in how some
of the knobs feel, some seem tighter than others, and some wobble much
more than I would have expected, but they work.

HENRY>>>>>>The feel of some of the knobs are of somewhat a nuisance to me as
well. However I don't consider any of them as wobbling, or defective by any
means.

The real question I have is about the Notch Filter. I have not been able
to make it take out anything. Clicking the AN button has zero effect
regardless of how strong/weak a carrier may be. Is something wrong with
my notch filter or is the Jupiter's notch filter just that bad?

HENRY>>>>>>I agree, the Notch Filter is useless. I think maybe I am expecting
it to do something that it is not supposed to. I read that there is no
adjustment to it either. It is either on or off. So I ignore it. Once in awhile
I'll still check to see if it will help with some particular problem. So far
the results have been nil.
Thanks,

Jeremy

The Jupiter is the only HF rig that I own. I operate SSB and usually I'm on NTS
daily. Sometimes I'll become involved in a QSO on almost any frequency just to
talk with someone else on the radio. I also work digital. Often I am on 20 or
40 meter PSK31 or whatever digital mode I can find someone working in. Not into
the SSTV although I have received some pictures and read some of the mail
connected with their transmissions. I am working on getting into CW. Was going
to have that under my belt by Field Day this year, but life's complications set
in and I've been delayed in that endeavor.

That's the view I have of my Jupiter. I love it!
