Douglas, I bring up the RF gain and the AF gain  to restore the audio levels in 
the AF AGC mode.

I also noticed,as Ron said in a previous mail, that you don't have to restart 
the radio when you change from one AGC to another .
But  in the documentation file TT claims that ''this selection can be changed 
at any time but will not take affect until the radio's power has been cycled.''

I tried both ways and I think that the result is the same.Anybody noticed 
something else?

The ''flame red'' sweep still comes and goes...In 1 hour using the radio I saw 
it 3 times...

if you bring the rf gain up in af agc it does help restoring some of the af
level
