The Hytower has one nasty problem on 160. If you run
more than 200 watts with the recomended base loading
coil arrangement, you will fry the insulators between
the tower and the 50' whip. I exoect some sort of top
loading by coil or wire would move the high voltage
point above the junction of the tower and whip. I
would think the problem will be the "whip" which in a
strong wind can almost bend horizontally. That gets
you into guying the whip along with top loading it.
Some top loading arrangement like in this month's QST
could work but you will end up with 1/2 wave length on
80 that will be tough to match.
Good luck!
