After reading this posting, I went
to my local farm store in Linden, CA
and bought some polypropylene baler twine
marked "UV stabilized. This product
specifically developed for intense
high ultra violet light areas."
It is orange in color. The manufacturer
is "Clover Brand" (Frank W. Winne & Son,
Inc., Philadelphia). A 4500 ft "ball"
of 130 lbs knot strength twine was about
$18. I'm going to try it on my irrigation
tubing verticals. The guy at the store
said they mainly sell it to tie trees.
