Wow, was everyone in the same contest?!?! Amazing how the opinions differ on
how condx were last weekend. One station, abt 70 miles north of me, remarked
how noisy the band was and even with a 880' beverage worked only 3 EU. A ham
from NNJ remarked how quiet the band was, yet was only able to work
ON4UN!?!?! Battle Creek, MI, further west from me, worked several EU, even
though condx may not have been the best. Another, not to far east of me,
worked several EU with a 400' beverage. One quit only a few hours into the
test because the only dx he heard was KV4FZ and he thought the band was very
noisy. One said its a shame the band was in bad shape because the QRN was
way down?!?!? Thanks for all the replies. Most agree, condx were not the
best, and they all seemed to agree the bev was working. Here's to good dx in
2003 and hopefully better condx for the CQ160...73 Jamie WW3S
