I am not an expert by any means, but believe the example of KG8CO who has a 125 foot tower with the M2 40M Yagi would not be too tall and would work well. W8LRL uses a 200 Foot tower and didn't put up an extra 6 sections to have a poorer signal..... I don't think I would take down what is working well for you in hopes it will be better at 70 feet assuming the electrical length is 200 feet or less.
