DXscape is a very good alternate to summit:

It is rare for both to be down at the same time.

Use a Telnet client to login to the cluster instead of posting through  
the websites:

http://www.ng3k.com/Misc/cluster.html

My spots via telnet show up very quickly on both scape and summit.
