Modeling with AO, a 2 el (fullsize elements) on a 40' boom at 100'
has 4.5dB more gain than a "W1CF" 4 square.

If you use linear loading, unless something is wrong, it won't
have 4.5dB of loss.

A 402CD models around 0.7dB loss for the lumped element loading.
You could probably figure somewhere around there (if not better)
for linear loading.


Better than 3dB and no stinkin' radials?  Sounds good!!

p.s.  Low angle stuff is just as good on the 2el at 100'.
p.p.s.  KS9K/W9JA had a homebrew 2el for years.  Worked great!
