My friend Norris, VE3FBQ, is putting up a new F12 C3S beam. Per the
instruction book, he wants to use an 8-turn choke coil wound from the coax
feedline.

The question is... how should he orient the coil when mounting it on the
boom... should the plane of the coil be horizontal or vertical? If
vertical, should the plane be in the front-back direction of the beam or
perpendicular to it?

Also, any suggestions for the best way to attach the coil to the boom?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
