The new QST came in today's mail and it looks like the League has retracted
it's two scary tips from last month ("How to Make Swiss Cheese Out of Your
Mast" and "Practice Safe Climbing: Put a Rubber on Your Rung....")
The retraction or re-visiting of these tips this month is due in part to
the emails flying about on the Towertalk (and other) reflectors criticizing
these ideas. Especially the rubber-rung thing. It didn't take long for the
experienced tower climbers on the list to come out and slam that one into
oblivion.
I just feel sorry for the poor saps that don't su*bscribe to Towertalk that
now have to go out and scrape off the garden hose they RTV'd to their
towers.
Once again, Towertalk proves it's worth its weight in gold. Just can't
figure out what emails weigh?
