The AlumaTower Company ships a side brace with their crankups and strongly
recommends it's use. I have one on mine (I made my own brace however).

Hi,

Just to share some comments from two aluminum tower mfgrs.

I own a 40 ft aluminum tower that I have two Mosley tribanders on.
Originally on the flat roof at work here with guys and took down
as they put up a new roof. Moved to side of building and side
supported at abt 20ft level to the building. All has worked fine
so far. I will be taking down shortly for a move to Western NC
and had some questions as to putting up agn.

I called two mfgrs abt information on side supporting like the
Rohn towers. One mfg had no information and brushed me off.
The other was far more informative.

He said first do NOT side support an aluminum tower. OK for
steel but not for aluminum. Can free stand or guy and that's
it. He said that the aluminum has to flex like the airplane
wings. Since I don't know too much on this I just thanked
him. Now I am looking at my installation here and wondering...

FYI info to the group.

Would still be interested in comments on side supporting.
