My paranoid tendencies keep me interested in reading
all posts about lightning-protection, even though
there's not much I can do to change my present setup,
which is:
Tower base 10 feet from house, copper panel in
weatherproof enclosure three feet from house containing
Polyphaser units connected to system of multiple ground
rods (including powerco and telco) via copper strap.
But now I'm wondering: How do I BEST ground the
chassis of the actual radio gear (mostly boatanchors)
inside the shack for RF purposes? I don't want my link
between the indoor gear-grounding buss to the outdoor
system to compromise lightning protection, create ground-
loops, etc.
I can run a 12-foot long length of copper strap from
the equipment buss to the outdoor copper panel. Or I can
run a five-foot strap from the equipment buss to a
ground rod that is connected to the outdoor system.
  Suggestions appreciated...
