For on the cheap, ask around the electrical supply shop to see if there
are any electricians in town who are scroungers. Needed a 20kva 3 phase
transformer for a project and found a good quality in mint condx for $100
from a scrounging electrician. Been using it a year. No hum loaded or 
idling.
