Yes, it is important, because the "details" of how and why it works, 
and how it is built, are generally kept from public or professional 
scrutiny.  "Proprietary information" you know.
Unfortunately, I don't expect peer review to have any influence 
because it won't be peer-reviewed by Nature, Science, or Journal of 
American Physical Society, or...
