The hot sticks are made for the power companies for dealing with power
lines. The prices are high because of the insurance they are carrying
on them in case something terrible should go wrong. The power companies
have to have the inspected and tested constantly to make sure they don't
build up dirt and crud that could potentially carry electricity.
